Published: 16th May 2019
This last month has seen an expansion of our team here at Newson Health, with the addition of not just one new doctor - but two! We would like to welcome Dr Alice Duffy and Dr Lucy Blunt.
Dr Alice Duffy - Dr Duffy is a GP and medical educator with a keen interest in women’s health having obtained her MBChB from Glasgow University in 1987, the DRCOG in 1990 and completed GP training and the MRCGP in 1991. A GP partner in a busy urban practice for 21 years, she now pursues a portfolio career working as a GP and Clinical Teaching Fellow at Nottingham University Medical School where she teaches medical students consultation and communications skills alongside the ethics and medicolegal aspects of medicine.
Alice enjoys using her skills to help women make the correct, informed decisions that will enable them to improve their health and wellbeing. She is actively engaged in the development of education for GPs and has a particular interest in menopause care, welcoming the opportunity to help women deal with this phase of life while balancing the demands of work and caring responsibilities.
Alice is married with three grown up sons and a dog (also male) so she definitely enjoys time in the world of women!
Dr Lucy Blunt - Lucy qualified from Leicester Medical School in 2004 and became a GP in 2009. She works as a Partner in a busy GP practice in Stratford On Avon where she has a special interest in women’s health. She feels passionate about providing women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed, evidence based decisions about their own care during the peri-menopause and beyond. Her skills extend to sexual health, practical contraceptive techniques and community based gynaecology allowing her to manage a wide range of health concerns for women at all stages of their life. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see women regain their identity and self-confidence after the use of HRT. She hopes that she can bring her energy for providing excellent medical care to Newson Health.
Lucy has three young children and enjoys jogging, house renovations and medical writing.
We are delighted to welcome them both to the team!
