'The Big M' - Menopause Survey

Published: 25th September 2019

'The Big M' is a survey created by one of Dr Newson's patients, Kate Irvine, and is designed to gather information from perimenopausal and menopausal women concerning their experience with the symptoms and treatment of menopause.

Speaking of her survey, Kate said " I have spent much of the past year talking to GPs and menopause experts, attending Menopause seminars and workshops and chatting to dozens of women, and I would be very grateful if you could find the time to complete my short online Menopause Survey.

I have found that talking about the menopause makes me and most other women I know feel so much better. Sharing our experiences, symptoms, fears and sometimes bonkers behaviour is a tonic in itself, and should definitely be encouraged. The qualitative information I’m collecting from my survey is intended to provide the basis of a book which will be full of women’s real experiences of many aspects of peri-menopause and menopause. I hope that dipping into the book will be like having a chat or even a moan with friends, and make anyone who reads it realise that they are not alone! There is always someone out there who is feeling or thinking something similar, which can be strangely comforting."

Here at Newson Health, we believe that the more people talking about their menopause experience, the better!
