A jam-packed May for the Newson Health team!

Over the last month, Dr Newson and the team of specialist doctors here at Newson Health have had a jam-packed schedule - offering virtual consultations to patients all over the UK as well as taking to the internet to connect with like-minded people and share their expertise. Here's what we've been up to:
- Recently, Dr Louise Newson joined Petra Coveney on Zoom, taking part in Petra's Menopause Yoga teacher training course. Dr Newson delivered an hour-long talk to the women in attendance, answering their questions about the menopause, treatment options and HRT and why yoga can be so beneficial in aiding menopausal symptoms. We received some great feedback from the session with many women saying they found the talk "uplifting, positive and full of hope" and that talking to Dr Newson had given them a more positive view of HRT.
- Dr Newson also joined the wonderful Emma Forbes on Wellbeing Radio for her show 'Health on the Shelf' - together they spoke all about the menopause and Dr Newson was happy to dispel some common myths surrounding HRT. Emma also asked Dr Newson about her exiting new research looking at the possible effects of oestrogen on COVID-19. The episode is now available to listen on demand, you can find it here.
- Dr Sarah Ball, one of the specialist doctors here at Newson Health, has also been busy sharing her extensive knowledge of the menopause. Dr Ball recently spoke to Liz Earle Wellbeing Magazine about HRT and how women can still get the help they need (and their prescription!) during lockdown. You can read the full article here.
- In an informative Instagram Live, Dr Rebecca Lewis joined personal trainer and fitness expert Kate Rowe-Ham for a friendly chat about all things menopause. Dr Lewis and Kate discussed the wide range of menopause symptoms, including mood symptoms, vaginal dryness, palpitations, muscle aches and fatigue as well as how HRT can not only treat these symptoms safely but give us long term health benefits on our heart, bones and metabolism.
