Message to patients re appointments during Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Updated 23rd March 2020

23rd March 2020

Dear All,

In view of the Prime Minister's most recent announcements, we have taken further steps to protect our staff and patients and, with immediate effect, all consultations, at both Stratford-upon-Avon and Manchester, will now be carried out either online via video or via telephone.

Until further notice, patients should not attend either of our clinics in person, unless a special arrangement has been made with our clinical team because of a specific medical need.

For most women, blood tests can be delayed without changing their management in any way. We are working on ways to enable blood tests to be undertaken for women who need them, as a priority.

We are very aware that women will have an even greater need to access specialist medical advice and treatment to help with their menopause and perimenopause symptoms during this extremely difficult period. We have complete confidence that we can continue to provide the highest level of support to our patients in this way.

Best wishes

Dear All,

Clearly this has been a very unsettled and difficult week for everyone. Above all I hope you are all keeping well and trying to be positive with so much uncertainty.

We have been working really hard so that we can provide the best care for all our patients.

We have made some changes that I'd like to tell you about:

  • We are still offering video and phone consultations to women who are unable to come to the clinic and these have been working very well this week
  • Due to the increase in orders for repeat prescriptions, we are now going to take a payment for the prescription from the card we have in our system, unless you inform us otherwise. This will enable the prescriptions to be sent promptly although we are asking you to allow four to five working days for them to be dispatched
  • Due to the increased demand, we are limiting prescriptions to 3 months' quantity at present
  • All correspondence about the clinic will now be sent by email rather than letters. Your confirmation regarding your appointments and also your clinic letter will be emailed to you and your GP (if you have given permission for us to contact your GP)

It is so important that we all keep well and positive during these unprecedented times.

I promise to update you fully as things change.

Best wishes

Dear All,

As you know, the health and wellbeing of all our patients is our top priority and we want to reassure you of the diligence of our approach to Covid-19 virus.

We are closely monitoring the daily changing Government guidelines and following their instructions accordingly.

For those patients who are unable to visit us at the clinic, during the next few weeks we are offering video or telephone consultations as temporary alternatives. If you would like either of these instead of a face-to-face consultation, then please let the clinic staff know as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements.

If you need a repeat prescription of any of your HRT please give us as much written warning as possible. This can also be ordered via our website.

Here's what we are doing to ensure we can protect you as much as possible:

  • Upon arrival to the clinic our staff will let you know about our hygiene facilities
  • Although we will always extend a warm welcome to all patients, for the time being this welcome will not be accompanied by a handshake
  • We ask for your help in washing your hands thoroughly as often as possible
  • We are cleaning and sanitising all touched surfaces regularly
  • We want to help as much as we can and currently our cancellation policy stands at the usual 2 working day period, however if you do fall ill and need to cancel your appointment within the 2 working day period we will move your appointment to a more appropriate time in the interest of being more flexible during this period
  • If you are not feeling well then please contact the clinic to arrange a video or telephone consultation

This is certainly not an easy time for anyone at the moment. It is a dynamic situation and will continue to evolve.

Best Wishes
